
Dr. Erica Waters is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor and certified Functional Medicine Health Coach. She received her doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon and a functional medicine coaching certification through the Institute of Functional Medicine. She holds a naturopathic license in Connecticut and sees patients in Huntington.
Her Background and Path to Naturopathic Medicine
After working several years in mental health, Dr. Waters moved to Oregon where she completed a four-year naturopathic medical degree. In addition to her naturopathic education, she volunteered at a hospice center and completed courses in Process Work and counseling. After moving back to the east coast she established a naturopathic practice and also worked as a patient advocate in Boston and New York City.
Working with Dr. Waters
Using a patient-centered approach, Dr. Waters works with her patients to search for the underlying cause of imbalance and create individualized wellness plans based on any findings. Her suggestions are designed to help patients make positive lifelong changes, prevent further imbalance, and achieve optimal health.
Hormones, Wellness and Preventative Medicine
Dr. Waters works with women, recognizing that health can be greatly impacted by hormonal changes and imbalances at every stage of life. Her goal is to support each patient with a plan that feels comfortable and sustainable — which may include further testing, guidance with supplements and botanical medicine, nutrition, and lifestyle coaching.
